This site is dedicated to the late blooming crafters who never thought they had the talent to take on those projects that looked just too daunting.
Who Am I And What Have I Done With Donna
Passions.
Passions. Sewing, ceramics, dried floral, paper making, card making, scrapbooking, coffee, hats. The list goes on. I have realized that I do not need to be pigeonholed into just one. My passion is creating and sharing. Creating projects, and then then teaching others how to do the same.
It wasn’t always this way. I used to think art was useless, to be looked at, not created. My brain was meant for numbers, writing, analysis. Then it happened. My Home Economics teacher selected me to represent my school for a fabric company, to create items for their various shows. Next, I won an accounting competition. My confidence soared. And my attitudes changed. I bought my first sewing machine and sewed my own wedding dress. I finally realized that creating energized my Happy Hormones!
I sewed pillows, curtains, quilts, and baby clothes. Soon I took up ceramics and won ceramics competitions.
My mom, who had been scrapbooking since she was a little girl, got me started on that passion. I felt reborn! I had never realized that I had any talent for art because I couldn’t draw.
Note to self: You don’t need to know how to draw to be creative.
